In Solemn Splendor

"And you shall know the truth and the truth will make you free." John 8:32
"Then you will experience for yourselves the truth, and the truth will free you."

In solemn splendor
I sat alone
Fire burning with desire
but I sat alone
Dragon breath
And Kitten purr
The beautiful enchantress' lure
And songs of love
And songs of hate
And death and dusty
And a cold grave
And hate you
because I am not free
But the Pegasus transpires
And my soul presently inspired
I look to the higher goal
And you are left
My sad sorry friend
back in the darkness
of the hole.

Have you ever seen a star?
Watched it shining from afar?
So that its rays came down
like silent golden rain to the ground
And its soft yellow glow
Touched your heart down below
So that your mind soon aspired
to the height it transpired?

Have you ever seen my eyes?
Watched them shining in the skies
And watched my tears run down
like silent drops of fire to the ground
And their color like clay
Touched your heart far away
So that your one true desire
was to once again taste my fire?

I ask you I implore
Do you want to learn to soar?
Do you want to take the flight?
to fill our days with light?
Do you want to feel my love?
Do you want to feel my love?
